Adventure Hike: Bear Meadows Loop
State CollegeDiscover Bear Meadows Natural Area – a national natural landmark due to its exceptional value wetland environment. This trail winds through towering forests, surrounds a rare wetland, and passes through walls of rhododendron. Bear Meadows was recently added to the national old-growth forest network because it protects an entire high mountain fen wetland, which is a unique, rare ecosystem in Pennsylvania. Hiking in a wetland environment offers the chance to see all sorts of waterfowl, wildlife, and plants. Join us on the trail to learn more and experience its beauty firsthand.
