Guided Outings

Many Centred Outdoors programs incorporate environmental education and opportunities to learn more about the natural world while exploring the outdoors. Select guided outings feature guest educators and partners from organizations such as the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), local conservation professionals, naturalists, and community experts who share knowledge about local ecology, wildlife, forests, waterways, native plants, conservation efforts, and outdoor stewardship.

Events tagged with this category place a stronger emphasis on environmental education, local history, interpretation, and learning-based experiences than many other Centred Outdoors outings. These programs are designed to help participants build a deeper connection to the landscapes, ecosystems, and communities that make Central Pennsylvania unique through guided discussion, storytelling, hands-on learning, and opportunities to engage more deeply with the places we explore together.
