SUMMARY:Wellness Wednesday: Mindful Birding
DESCRIPTION:At this mindful birding event\, Autumn Knepp will introduce concepts and skills used in mindful birding\, a practice of observing birds with the intention to build a stronger connection to the natural world. You’ll then take a calm guided walk on the grassy trails to observe birds and other natural phenomena. You’ll learn how and why mindful birding is so powerful\, plus begin building the skills of careful observation and deep focus on the natural world. Expect to find yourself enthralled by calls of migrating birds and the beauty of Bald Eagle creek flowing nearby!  Recommended gear includes binoculars\, but they are not necessary. Be prepared for the weather conditions by wearing appropriate clothing\, bringing at least 32oz of water\, plus wearing sunscreen and insect repellent.    \nRegistration is required and opens one week in advance! \nAbout the Presenter:\nAutumn Knepp is a naturalist and writer from Northcentral Pennsylvania. She graduated from Lock Haven University with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Geology in 2018. Since then\, Autumn has volunteered with the Pennsylvania Master Naturalists leading nature journaling programs and speaking about Pennsylvania’s natural history. In addition to her volunteer work\, she writes poems and essays inspired by her life in the Pennsylvania countryside. When Autumn is not volunteering or writing\, she is often looking for fossils or fungi at Bald Eagle State Park! Learn more about her on her website\, autumndannay.com.   \n  \nReschedule Policy\nBecause of the frequency and nature of our wellness sessions\, adventure hikes\, and guided outings\, we are unable to reschedule these events. For special-topic programs\, we will make every effort to reschedule when possible. If a special-topic event is postponed\, participants will be notified with updated details as soon as they are available. \nAll programs are held rain or shine. In the event of a cancellation for severe weather\, registrants will be contacted by email and/or phone\, and it will be announced on our website\, Facebook\, and Instagram.
