SUMMARY:Fall Equinox Community Campfire
DESCRIPTION:Join us around the fire for a fall equinox celebration! The autumnal equinox is an astronomical event that marks the beginning of fall. On the equinox\, day and night are roughly equal in length\, as the sun’s center passes through the celestial equator. \nGather with community members for an evening of warmth\, connection\, and shared creativity. Participants are welcome to bring a poem\, short story\, or song to share\, or simply enjoy listening as we spend time together by the fire. We recommend bringing a chair or blanket to sit\, but we will also have a few chairs and sit pads for folks to borrow. \nThis is a relaxed\, community-focused gathering open to all who wish to celebrate the season in good company. Registration simply helps us anticipate attendance\, and space is limited to approximately 50 participants. \n  \nReschedule Policy\nBecause of the frequency and nature of our wellness sessions\, adventure hikes\, and guided outings\, we are unable to reschedule these events. For special-topic programs\, we will make every effort to reschedule when possible. SUMMARY:Wellness Wednesday: Forest Therapy
DESCRIPTION:Reconnect with your senses and explore the relationship between self and nature. \n*Registration now CLOSED \nLed by Mary Price\, Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs (ANFT) Certified Guide. \nDuring a Forest Therapy walk\, the trained Forest Therapy guide uses a clearly defined sequence of events and invitations in partnership with the forest which allows participants to slow down\, allow the senses to open\, and to experience the environment using all of the awakened senses to deepen the reciprocal relationship between participants and the forest. This supports the wholeness and well-being of both. \nThe invitations are open-ended. There is no expectation for how to participate or what you experience or receive. Rather\, you spend time in silence\, listening and feeling with a quiet and accepting presence. You become reconnected with your senses and your innate creative potential is tapped\, which allows the imagination to awaken. \nAbout the Presenter: \nMary Price is a Certified Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs. She is also certified in Wilderness First Aid through Wild Med\, and is certified in CPR/AED for adults\, children\, and infants through the American Red Cross. She has earned a Mental Health First Aid certification through Penn State Extension and has practiced Mindfulness Meditation for over ten years. Mary has a deep reverence for all natural settings\, and as a forest therapy guide\, she partners with nature to facilitate safe gentle walks with a focus on sensory immersion in the present moment. As a guide\, she helps to create and support meaningful and relational connections between participants and the more than human world. \n\nCancellation Policy \nIf you need to cancel your registration\, please email us at info@centredoutdoors.org at least 24 hours before the event. Our programs often have limited capacity\, and early cancellations allow us to offer your spot to another participant.
