To this day Jennifer works at the intersection of diverse practices in herbalism\, photography\, teaching\, consulting\, yoga\, shamanism\, ethnobotany\, and writing. She is the author of Evelyn’s Way: Cleansing and Nourishing with Plants (jennifer-tucker.com)\, a workbook of herbal remedies and practices devoted to the teachings of Evelyn Snook. Jennifer is co-founder of the annual Hawthorn Botanical Gathering at Rhoneymeade\, PA.  \nBriel Beaty is a Traditional Western Herbalist\, Reiki and Yoga instructor offering classes in the State College\, PA area. Briel grew up embedded in the PA woods and dabbled in herbalism throughout her life until she began her formal herbal studies. She started her formal herbal studies with Susan Hess in 2014 with a year-long Homestead Herbalism Certificate course. Following that she moved on to study at the The Northeast School of Botanical Medicine with herbalist/botanist 7Song\, taking his 400-hour Community Herbalism Intensive. DESCRIPTION:At this mindful birding event\, Autumn Knepp will introduce concepts and skills used in mindful birding\, a practice of observing birds with the intention to build a stronger connection to the natural world. You’ll then take a calm guided walk on the grassy trails to observe birds and other natural phenomena. You’ll learn how and why mindful birding is so powerful\, plus begin building the skills of careful observation and deep focus on the natural world. Expect to find yourself enthralled by calls of migrating birds and the beauty of Bald Eagle creek flowing nearby!  Recommended gear includes binoculars\, but they are not necessary. Rather\, you spend time in silence\, listening and feeling with a quiet and accepting presence. You become reconnected with your senses\, and your innate creative potential is tapped\, which allows the imagination to awaken.  \nRegistration is required and opens one week in advance! \nAbout the Presenter:  \nMary Price is a Certified Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs. She is also certified in Wilderness First Aid through Wild Med\, and is certified in CPR/AED for adults\, children\, and infants through the American Red Cross. She has earned a Mental Health First Aid certification through Penn State Extension and has practiced Mindfulness Meditation for over ten years. DESCRIPTION:To wrap up the Fall Season of Centred Outdoors\, join Program Coordinator\, Olivia Stas\, to slow down\, connect with community\, and offer gratitude to the natural world around us. The group will be taking an easy walk through the trails of the Boal Mansion with various stops along the way. Olivia will be pulling inspiration from the teachings of Robin Wall Kimmerer and sharing excerpts from the Thanksgiving Address\, a traditional message of gratitude from the Haudenosaunee.  \nRegistration is required and opens one week in advance! \nAbout the Presenter\nOlivia helps to coordinate ClearWater’s outreach and education efforts through our Centred Outdoors Program. She seeks to empower individuals and communities in the outdoor space and teaches the importance of environmental conservation through a variety of free\, guided programs in the Centre Region. \nOriginally from Southwest Pennsylvania\, Olivia has lived in Centre County since starting school at Penn State in 2014. \n\nShe graduated in 2018 with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology. Her passion for connecting our health to the natural world has carved a unique career path where she has gained experience in environmental education\, early childhood education\, public programming\, community building\, and outdoor recreation programming. \nIn her free time\, she enjoys gardening\, connecting with loved ones\, and exploring the Earth’s beauty on foot\, bike\, or boat.
