Doug Wentzel, President of the State College Bird Club, will present birding resources for beginners. From phone apps to equipment to local birding programs and group walks, you'll learn all about birding in our local area. According to the National Survey on Recreation and the Environment, over 93 million Americans watch birds on some level whether at the backyard feeder or traveling across the country and beyond. This talk will focus on the basics of bird watching to allow you to join in the fun. We’ll include resources, local places to find birds and tips on learning how to connect to the birds around you.
